WANTED!

Do you have any photos, letters, stories, even home movies of Bob Hawke,

Australia's longest-serving Labor Prime Minister?

HawkeBannerv2

Bob Hawke is a landmark figure in Australian politics, history and culture. His influence spans 4 decades – as a Rhodes scholar, union leader and one of this country's most successful Prime Ministers.

In 2017 Southern Pictures is producing a documentary series about Bob Hawke’s leadership, and the legacy of his Labor government.

We are looking for new personal stories, photos and any footage of the man and the times – from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s – and especially the 1980s and early 90s.

• You might have seen Bob Hawke, the young industrial advocate on his feet in the Arbitration Commission or had a drink with him at the John Curtin Hotel in the 1960s…

• You might have been in a union that imposed a ban on the Springboks tour or been a union member or relative affected by Hawke’s arbitration or later policies…

• You might have marched to save the Franklin River or protested against uranium mining in the 1980s…

• You might have been at one of his election or preselection campaigns… or attended an ALP Conference…

• You may have something we’ve never heard of or thought of that speaks to the times, the politics, the culture – that reminds us today of who we were…

If you have a story to tell, a photograph, letter or home movie to share, we'd like to hear from you.

Send us an email at kristy@southernpictures.com.au or message us on Facebook, or upload your material to our website.

Please note: all material that is used in the documentary will be acknowledged.
